Things can change quickly at the Arnold. Starting the day in second place, Hafthor Bjornsson quickly re-writes the narrative in the first event of Saturday's action, leaving the entire field in the dust with a remarkable 1,026 LB Elephant Bar Deadlift (barefoot, no less), and regaining the pole position to a third straight title in the process.
Rogue’s complete coverage of the 2020 Arnold Strongman Classic will be live from March 6-7. 10 strongmen will compete in 6 events over 2 days for the title of Arnold Strongman Classic Champion. Rogue’s coverage will also include daily episodes of the Rogue Iron Game show featuring guests from the worlds of Strongman, Olympic Lifting, Powerlifting, and CrossFit. We will also be streaming the full 2020 Rogue Record Breakers competition and the IWF Rogue World Challenge.

    • The steroid intake and his sheer mass will be detrimental to a long life. He’s living it to the fullest though which is what matters and once he quits and diets down he can hopefully go on and have a long and healthy future. Unfortunately pushing yourself so hard will always have repercussions. It’s the same in most sports, few retired top level athletes won’t have a litany of old injuries to deal with.

Eddie, although a tad bit smaller than Thor when he set the record, has shorter limbs therefore the distance the bar has to travel is smaller than in Thor's case. Use that dusty brain of yours sometimes will ya

      NJK570NJK5708 måneder siden
    • @NJK570 It wasn't a straight bar, stop spreading lies. Eddie had that bar made specifically for that lift, so it was perfectly calibrated to him personally. That's a huge advantage. He also wore a suit, and 8-straps. Eddie's max on the elephant bar is 465, and when he pulled that (2016 and 2017), he was hitching and jerking like crazy. Without the assistance and the personalized bar, Hafthor is the better deadlifter.
