Extended highlights from Event 5 of the 2020 Arnold Strongman Classic, the Timber Carry, as re-broadcast on the CBS Sports Network. In this challenge, the athletes are tasked with moving an 881 LB frame up a 35-ft. ramp as fast as possible. There is a 30-second time cap, and the athletes race head-to-head. Best time wins. If anyone was thinking the phenomenal Mateusz Kieliszkowski couldn’t catch Hafthor Bjornsson after the Elephant Bar, this event quickly set them straight.
The 2020 Arnold Classic took place the weekend of March 6-7 in Columbus, Ohio, and brought together 10 of the most accomplished Strongman athletes from around the world to compete in six events. Due to early Covid-19 safety protocols, the competition was held without live spectators.

  • Polish power, Mateusz Kieliszkowski, the successor of Mariusz Pudzianowski ;)

  • Maybe, Kieliszkowski would take more than 7 seconds to walk up that course without any weight. Give him a weight, he devices some sort of anti-gravity.

  • It was Rob’s height not his strength, considering he’s one of the stronger pullers. He’s the only guy under 6 feet and under 300 lbs. The rack was so high for him he probably couldn’t brace to lift it.

  • Left Timber Carry is unbalanced!! (more weight on the right hand, maybe the problem is the difference density wood pieces) the difference is important ... (I am a great admirer of Mateusz but all in this track had problems)

  • It is really nice to see all those competitors and trainers come up to mateusz and congratulate him. Martins is a great guy too, but mateusz truly is my favorite strongman.

  • Sad that the frame on Thor’s side was unbalanced, could have costed him the whole competition. Event coordinators really need to do a better job at making sure things like that don’t happen in the future.

    • @Michael Jimenez Mateusz would've won the event regardless, nobody is disputing that. But JF also commented on the frame that side and he runs his own comps so he knows that this kind of thing can easily happen.
