  • Thor EASILY had 510kg in him! Why didn't just do ONE more rep at 510kg??

    tzzlitetzzlite3 dager siden
    • he did 501 to secure the world record, if he had tride like 510 and failed he would have no gas to go for a 501 anymore. And even tho 501 was clearly not his absolute max, once he did it, there was no way he could go for another bar after that

  • Trying to compare this to eddies lift is an insult because Eddie set a bar that nobody has set before he made a statement by beating his own world record in one year by 35 kg which is an insane jump in weight

    Invis TrainInvis Train10 dager siden
    • @Invis Train neither its just a fkn record lol he got beaten thats it, plus eddie only beat the axle press by record by 1kg

      Jimmy DiceJimmy Dice8 dager siden
    • @Jimmy Dice what’s more impressive jumping up 40 kg in 3 years or 35 kg in one year

      Invis TrainInvis Train8 dager siden
    • @Invis Train lol thats not important at all i dont know why your focussing on such small details thats like saying no one had ever deadlifted using black socks before like no one cares lol he set a world record, and then his record got beaten, thats it plain and simple, his was impressive and so was thors as are all world records theres not one "better" thats just straight up fanboying

      Jimmy DiceJimmy Dice9 dager siden
    • Eddie made the biggest jump ever in dL world record nobody has ever set the bar higher than him in deadlift

      Invis TrainInvis Train9 dager siden
    • @Jimmy Dice Eddie didn’t just set the bar he made a statement. The biggest jump in a dl world records before Eddie was 15 kg. The average jump in a dl world record is about under 5 kg. Also Eddie Eddie jumped 35 kg from his own max/world record to get the 500 kg in a year which is insane at that weight. I’m not saying that hafthor lift wasn’t amazing I’m just saying you can’t compare the two.

    Marc CobleyMarc Cobley16 dager siden
    • @Jimmy Dice Hes a sore loser beating Eddie Hall by 1KG is because he *Thinks* Eddie Hall cheated in the 2017 Worlds Strongest Man. Eddie Hall won that event in 2017 and had more reps in him so won *WSM 2017* no doubt about it.

      Marc CobleyMarc Cobley9 dager siden

  • How do these competitions work? Last record Eddie Hall had it but he lifted 2 times prior to his WR deadlift. Doesn’t that severely diminish your capacity to lift a heavy weight? Halfthor here lifts the weight but does not strain himself with 2 prior lifts as Eddie did? Does this really count as breaking the record in a philosophical manner. I know he broke it technically.

    Simon HSimon H29 dager siden
    • @Hidde de Roos I did not know this, thanks for clarifying

      Simon HSimon H27 dager siden
    • @Simon H Hafthor also lifted 2 times prior to the 501 lift. In fact his first 2 lifts were the exact same as Eddie´s, 420 kg and 465 kg.

Hidde de RoosHidde de Roos27 dager siden
    • @HSV0012 That makes sense, I guess thats why afterwards Eddie was saying how Halfthor should do it in an actual competition. I suppose the competition that has lifts of increasing weight would really show who can do it and who opts out at the end.

      Simon HSimon H29 dager siden
    • I think it's just the weight of a single lift, kudos to Hall for doing prior lifts but it's not needed.

      Jimmy DiceJimmy Dice10 dager siden
    • He will never be better than Eddie? Lmao, everyone who knows something about strongman knows that Hafthor is much, much better than Eddie. Eddie beat Thor in a competition 1x in his entire career and that was at WSM 2017. Thor beat Eddie at WSM 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. he also beat him at Europe Strongest Man 2013, 2015 and 2017. Eddie was never able to win the Arnold Classic which is the heaviest competition on earth. he also never won Europe Stongest man despite competing 3x. Thor has won the Arnold Classic 3x in a row and won Europe Strongest Man 5x. Eddie won 1 major title in his entire career, Thor won 10. Thor is also the only person in history to win the Arnold, Europe Strongest Man and WSM in the same year. Meanwhile Eddie wn 1 major competition in his entire career lol. Hafthor: WSM 2018 3x Arnold Classic champion 5x Europe Strongest Man 2018 World Ultimate Strongman champion Only person in history to win the Arnold, Europe Strongest Man and WSM in the same year. Eddie: 2017 WSM Never made the podium at the Arnold Classic Never won Europe Strongest Man Beat Thor 1x in his entire career Still think Eddie is better? Lmao

He had the strictest and most respected strongman referee in the world Magnus Ver Magnusson as the judge who also verified the weights. Thor had strict rest times, he was only allowed to rest for 15 minutes between lifts. Meanwhile Eddie was allowed to rest for as long as he wanted between lifts, Jerry Pritchett talked about this. All the other competitors had to wait until eddie was ready to lift. Eddie rested for 30 minutes between lifts, he had 2x as much rest time as Thor.
